VICTIMS OF CRIME

In South Australia people who have been the victims of a criminal act may be entitled to compensation for physical and/or psychological injuries that they have sustained.

In many cases a psychiatric evaluation can determine the impact of the criminal offence and whether any psychiatric disorder has developed. The capacity for work and social functioning, together with future prognosis, are important factors which are considered in any eventual compensation.
